Plan A: Oceanarium and a flexible afternoon
Check Oceanarium availability and book the main visit for the morning or the slot that best suits your arrival. Allow time to enter and visit, without chaining another booking immediately afterwards.
Take a lunch break in the programme area, confirming indoor seating and dietary requirements with the chosen venue. In the afternoon, keep the option of resting or a short outdoor walk if the rain eases. The Parque das Nações riverside is not a covered visit.
Plan B: a cultural day in Belém
Compare the MAAT and Belém Cultural Centre programmes and choose the indoor visit that interests you most. Check tickets, exhibition and access conditions directly. A booking must correspond to an actually available visit, not just the existence of the building.
Organise lunch and return in the same geographical block. If there is an improvement, you can add an outdoor stroll around Belém. Do not rely on outdoor monuments as shelter nor promise that all spaces remain open during weather warnings.
Adapt transport and prepare the return
Research the route between accommodation and visit, including walking segments and any changes. Compare public transport and a pre-booked transfer according to the group, luggage and conditions of the day. Using transport does not necessarily eliminate all stretches exposed to rain.
Wear suitable clothing, protect documents and keep proof of booking accessible. Before leaving, confirm warnings, opening times and amendment conditions. If a provider closes or recommends postponing the visit, reorganise the programme instead of trying to keep all bookings.
