Praia dos Pescadores is one of Albufeira’s most iconic beaches, right in the historic centre of town. With a 4.5 rating and a Blue Flag, it has about 225 metres of fine golden sand and calm water — an excellent choice for families who prefer staying close to everything.
Getting there and parking
Access is from the old town, via an open-air escalator that links the upper part of the city directly to the sand — an unusual solution that saves walking down streets or steps. There is paid parking nearby, with around 534 spaces.
The sand and the sea
It’s a relatively small beach, with calm water and very good conditions for families with children. Surrounded by historic centre buildings, it’s always fairly busy, especially in peak season, when it fills up early.
Facilities
Being an urban beach, it’s surrounded by every kind of amenity — toilets, showers, sunbed hire, and lifeguards in summer.
Where to eat
Just steps from the sand, the streets of Albufeira’s old town are packed with restaurants, cafés, and terraces, with options for every taste and time of day, from breakfast to dinner.
Nearby beaches
Praia do Peneco (Tunnel Beach) is just 400 metres away. Praia da Oura is about 2.2 km, and Praia de São Rafael about 3 km — all easy to visit on foot or by car in the same day.
