Praia da Oura is Albufeira’s longest beach, with about 900 metres of fine golden sand and a 4.3 rating. It has a Blue Flag and sits right by the famous Strip, the town’s nightlife street — an unusual mix of daytime beach and after-dark energy.
Getting there and parking
Access is easy from the Oura/Areias de São João area, but parking is limited to the surrounding streets, especially in peak season — worth arriving early or walking if you’re staying nearby.
The sand and the sea
It’s Albufeira’s longest beach, with moderately choppy water — better suited to those who don’t mind a bit of swell than to those after completely calm swimming. At one end there’s a natural rock arch, one of the most photographed spots in the area.
Facilities
As a busy urban beach, it’s well suited to families, with toilets, showers, sunbed hire, and lifeguards in summer.
Where to eat
The Strip, right above the beach, has a huge concentration of restaurants, bars, and nightclubs, with activity that carries on late into the night — a family beach by day that turns into one of Albufeira’s liveliest areas after dark.
Nearby beaches
Praia dos Pescadores is about 2.2 km away, Praia do Peneco (Tunnel Beach) about 2.6 km, and Praia de São Rafael about 5 km — all three make for a good day exploring quieter beaches after Oura.
Where to stay
Nearby accommodation includes Apartamentos Borda D’Água (3 stars), Oura Ocean Front, and Monicca Collection Suites and Residences (4 stars). Check hotel availability near Praia da Oura.
