Plan A: historic centre and Palácio da Bolsa
Start by checking the Palácio da Bolsa tour and entry conditions. Organise the first block of the day around the confirmed booking. If you also want to see São Bento, consider that stop according to the actual route and public opening hours, without assuming the whole way is covered.
Break for lunch in an area that fits the programme. In the afternoon, choose another indoor visit only after confirming opening times, or keep time for a coffee and the return to your accommodation. The Ribeira can feature in a walk when conditions improve; it is not an indoor refuge.
Plan B: Serralves Museum
Check the exhibition and ticket for the Serralves Museum and choose the spaces you want to visit. Distinguish the indoor programme from the park and other outdoor routes. A ticket that includes several spaces does not require you to visit them all on a rainy day.
Compare transport between your accommodation and the entrance, including walking sections. Allow margin for a meal and the return. If the forecast or on-site conditions prevent the outdoor part, keep the museum as the priority or reorganise the visit according to the provider.
Checks before you go
Confirm current opening times, session availability and ticket change conditions. Do not automatically apply discounts or times found in an old itinerary. If considering the Porto.CARD, compare current conditions with the visits you actually intend to make.
Take suitable clothing and protect documents. With children, choose one main activity and plan breaks in confirmed indoor spaces. During weather warnings, follow the instructions of the authorities and operators; a normally indoor visit may close.
