Day 1 — Olhão and the Islands
Morning: Start at Olhão Market, one of the most authentic in the Algarve. Buy fresh tuna, clams and local fruit. Then take the ferry to Ilha da Culatra.
Lunch: Razor clam rice on Culatra Island, feet in the sand.
Afternoon: Return and take a boat tour of Ria Formosa. Spot flamingos, seahorses and hundreds of bird species.
Day 2 — Tavira and Tavira Island
Morning: Explore Tavira, the most elegant town in the Eastern Algarve. Cross the Roman bridge, climb the castle and wander the rooftop-terrace streets.
Lunch: Octopus à lagareiro at a restaurant by the Gilão river.
Afternoon: Ferry to Tavira Island — km of golden sand with almost nobody. Swim in the calm sea and return at sunset.
