To get from Porto Airport to your accommodation, compare the metro, taxi, app-booked transport and pre-arranged transfer. The metro link to the airport is via Line E, the purple line. The suitable option depends on the final address, arrival time, luggage and group needs, with no single choice suitable for everyone.
Start with the final address
Save the full address and entry instructions before travelling. Identify the arrival station or point and the route to the door. A hotel advertised as central may imply a climb, stairs or a difficult street to navigate with luggage.
The neighbourhoods and accommodation guide helps to frame the base. It also accounts for the time to leave the arrivals area, collect luggage and find the transport point. Avoid tourist bookings too close to the expected landing time.
Metro: Line E and hotel link
Check the current map and timetables for the Metro do Porto for the full journey. Line E serves the airport, but an additional link may be needed to reach the desired area. Confirm the exit station and final route, rather than assuming any journey ends at the hotel door.
Check the appropriate ticket on Andante and confirm the zones of the journey. You must validate at the start of the journey and when changing lines or transport. Keep the ticket during the journey. Validation rules also apply when using a time-valid ticket.
The transport guide explains how to compare tickets. If you want to buy the Porto.CARD, distinguish the option with transport from the option without transport and confirm collection and activation before relying on it upon arrival.

Taxi and app-based reserved transport
In a taxi, confirm capacity for people and luggage, payment method and relevant conditions before starting the journey. Ask for a receipt and keep the travel details. The final price should not be inferred from an old value found in a guide.
In an app service, follow the current pick-up point instructions and check the vehicle registration and driver. Do not assume boarding takes place at the same location as the taxi rank. For children, confirm vehicle conditions and necessary equipment for the group in advance.
Pre-booked transfer and delays
In a transfer booking, read the covered address, meeting instructions, handling of a delayed flight, waiting time and cancellation rules. Also confirm the number of passengers, luggage volume and any need for vehicle adaptation.
Keep an alternative in case the planned connection is unavailable. Booking transport does not, by itself, resolve a late arrival at accommodation. Arrange this detail with the hotel or host before the flight, especially when there is no permanent reception.
Late arrival and return journey
For a late arrival, confirm the operator’s actual schedule and entry into accommodation. On the return, define the necessary margin with the airline and airport, including the route to the terminal. This guide does not publish fixed fares nor guarantee travel times.
Use the Porto itineraries to prepare a light first day and the main guide to coordinate visits and stay. Do not fit in a long excursion or a timed visit immediately before the departure flight.
