From Seville to the Algarve: car, bus and connections
To travel from Seville to the Algarve, compare a confirmed road link with a car journey. The Algarve Line serves travel within the region, but is not a direct train from Seville. Search first for arrival at the town where you are staying.
Bus: search the real destination and date
Check with the operator for services between Seville and the desired town in the Algarve. The search must include the date, departure and arrival stops, luggage and change conditions. Do not assume a direct link just because the operator serves both regions.
Compare the timetable with check-in and the final journey to the accommodation. To continue to another Algarve town, confirm the second leg separately. A ticket to Faro does not mean transport to Lagos, Albufeira or Tavira is included.
Car: contract and cross-border route
If hiring a car in Spain, ask for confirmation of authorisation to drive in Portugal, cover, breakdown assistance and return conditions. Compare the total cost with the number of travellers and the journeys planned during the stay.
Include parking and any charges for the route actually chosen. Do not activate additional toll services without confirming the need and the contract. Coordinate arrival with the accommodation and check current road conditions before setting off.
Train for travelling in the Algarve after arrival
From July 2026, CP describes direct connections between Vila Real de Santo António and Lagos, with no change at Faro. This information concerns the Algarve Line, not a rail link from Seville.
Search the specific journey on CP and confirm the appropriate station for the destination. Include access between the station and the accommodation and check the last service for the intended day. Tickets, changes and luggage must be compared on the full route, not in isolated stages.
